About Tenerife
Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands. And this is also where Spain's highest point is - namely the almost 4000 meter high volcano Teide. The island lies approximately 300 km from the coast of Africa and is of volcanic origin. The island offers beautiful banana plantations, lush forests, beautiful beaches, and one of the world's largest volcanic craters. The most well-known holiday towns are Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. Both areas have many exciting restaurants and good shopping opportunities, but there is a bit more calm in and around Los Christianos. In extension of the two cities are Costa Adeje and Los Gigantes. These are slightly smaller towns, but with a very cozy atmosphere.
Tenerife is an incredibly beautiful and lush island. It is often cloudy in the northern part, and more rain falls here than in the southern part. Therefore, it would also be obvious to hire a car and take a day out of the beach holiday. Drive around the small winding roads, discover beautiful lookouts, find good restaurants in small local communities, maybe visit a winery, and otherwise drive around and experience the beautiful nature that the island has to offer.
Tenerife is a favorite classic among many, and many return here again.
Beachlife
The beaches in the south of Tenerife are incredibly popular. Many tourists go to Tenerife, just for the beaches. Most beaches are child-friendly and the sea suitable for swimming without high waves. On many of the beaches you will be able to hire deckchairs and parasols, and on several of the slightly larger beaches various water sports are offered. The beaches in the northern part of Tenerife consist of lava sand and gravel. Here the beaches are therefore black. The water is always clear and clean, but due to the black sand, it also gets hot quickly, and therefore it is a good idea to bring swimming shoes.
